Palladium Facts

Palladium has been used in jewellery since 1939 and is now one of the most popular metals in the UK, growing in popularity every year because of its pure white finish, reducing the need for rhodium plating.

Palladium is in the same periodic group as platinum, iridium, ruthenium and azmin. Is is 30 times rarer than gold. Palladium is less dense than platinum therefore it weighs less.

As with all precious metals palladium jewellery will carry a hallmark declaring its quality and authenticity. Palladium has only carried its hallmark since 2009 and features the head of Pallas Athene, the Greek Goddess of War, Wisdom and Crafts and the purity number 950.
